Birthday Gifts For a 6-Year-Old My Kid Recommends

Finding birthday gifts for a 6-year-old doesn’t seem like a daunting task. But, let’s be real. It can be. Especially if you’re the parent of that petite, soon to be 6-year-old. In my case, I’m not sure if my little girl is turning six or sixteen. She sure has a lot of input to give. There’s no exception when it comes to her birthday gift list.

Like most families, we live on a budget. As a result, gifts on her Christmas list have found their way to her birthday gift list. In fact, those leftover gifts are top priority on her birthday list. Yet, some are still out of our budget. Thankfully, she’s a pretty thankful kid. It’s easy to get along with her, too.

My 6-year-old daughter isn’t your typical girlie girl. She wears the label “tomboy” like it’s a trophy. For example, every day after school she comes in and grabs the same pair of jean overalls. The overalls are then paired with the SAME red and white striped t-shirt. After she changes, she proudly parades around the house claiming to be a “farmer”. Living in Georgia may have somethng to do with that.

Now, she isn’t all mud and bugs. While she’s fine with calling herself a “boy”, she HATES anything dirty. She is a CLEAN FREAK! My daughter actually doesn’t even like bugs. I’m a bad influence when it comes to that. Our screams meet about the same tempo when we come in contact with anything that crawls. Well, besides babies. We both think babies are super cute.

Trying to find birthday gifts for a 6-year-old? My kid wants to help!

If your 6-year-old child is more girlie girl, you may think this list isn’t for you. But, I promise it is! While she’d rather enjoy Avengers, she also LOVES Shopkins and Real Live Pets. My girl does not discriminate when it comes to play!

My daughter loves being involved in the Moms Uncut blog. As a result, I wanted to find a way to get her birthday list and implement it with the blog. So, I asked her if she’d like to share her birthday gift list with the Moms Uncut community. Of course, she happily obliged. In fact, she stated that her list is the BEST list of the perfect birthday gifts for a 6-year-old.

I asked her why she felt her list was the best. These are the reasons she gave me.

Why This List is The BEST List of Birthday Gifts For a 6-Year-Old

  • Other 6-year-olds, in her first grade class, also like these birthday gifts. That’s why she likes them.
  • You can buy them ANYWHERE! (I’m not sure how true this is. But, she believes it’s true.)
  • If mommy is broke she can still get them. (Uhmm.. make your own judgement on this one.)
  • They are fun and not boring.
  • Toys-R-Us has them and Toys-R-Us is her favorite store.
  • Toys-R-Us has a birthday party for her. (I PROMISE this isn’t a sponsored post by Toys-R-Us. My kid just REALLY likes that store.)
  • She doesn’t have to share them with her little brother. Because, you have to be 3+ years old to play with them.

So, that’s her reason. I’m sure by her gift list, for when she’s 16 years old, she will prepare a PowerPoint Presentation for you all.

Birthday Gifts for 6-Year-Olds Picked by My 6-Year-Old

First on the list are the popular Wowwee Fingerlings. These are a rare gift that wasn’t on her Christmas wish list. She’s only known about them for a few weeks. Thanks to the popular YouTube channel, Funnel Vision. She loves them! I’m becoming a little addicted, too. I wish our family was as cool as theirs. Wowwee Fingerlings

Why my 6-year-old LOVES the Wowwee Fingerlings

  • They’re cute.
  • They’re monkeys.
  • They move.
  • Her best friend, in 1st grade, loves them.
  • They will have best friend Fingerlings.

After some research, on my end, it seems as if these little finger monkeys will be a hot pick this Christmas. Which may lead to an increase in their price. Right now, the fingerlings are only $14.99. So, if I was you, I’d grab ‘em while they’re available and affordable.

The Disney Descendents Design & Style Charm Bracelets Set is next on her list. This is even more affordable than the Fingerlings. It’s only $9.99 at Toys-R-Us. Her father and I have mixed approval rates on the Disney Descendents. He thinks they’re evil and she shouldn’t watch them. I say they’re just the children of the Disney villains we once watched on TV. Just with a more youthful, rotten side. Disney Descendants

Regardless of our opposite opinions, our 6-year-old loves them! So, why wouldn’t this awesome kit be on her list? She can create Descendent inspired charm bracelets. Anything DIY, she is in there like swimwear!

Next on my 6-year-old’s birthday gift list is a more dangerous product. Ok, it’s probably NOT dangerous if you follow all the rules. But, I’m the kind of mom that wants to put her kid in a bubble. I’m slowly learning I have to let her have adventures. But, it’s super hard. Sue me.

While they may scare me, the PlayWheels DreamWorks Trolls Heel Wheels are something my 6-year-old’s dreams are made of. Your kid just slips ‘em over their shoes. Then they’re ready to “wheel” all over the place. Toys-R-Us has them on sale right now for $10.98! So glad I’m grabbing them tomorrow. (Please be on sale still.. Please be on sale still…) Trolls Heel Wheels

Since my 6-year-old daughter is a technology buff, she loves earbuds. That’s why she specially picked out a pair of The Emoji Movie Molded Earbuds. They even come with a super cool Emoji pouch. If you know a technology crazy 6-year-old, you can’t go wrong with something that revolves around Emojis and technology. Win/win situation.

At the moment, she is still compiling her birthday wish list. I’m not sure how long this will take her. I may not even receive the end results until 10 minutes before her birthday party (which is on her actual birthday day).

When she finishes her list, I’ll make sure to update this post! Hopefully, if you’re looking for the perfect birthday gift for a 6-year old this list will help you some.
